[Repeater-Builder] CTCSS decode/DTMF tone problem

I'm working on adding Echolink to our 2M machine (pl 146.2) here and am using a Kenwood TM-241 for a link radio.  This rig does not have PL decode so we added an outboard Transcendient CDC-01 decoder board.  Using the RX out pin off of the mic connector for discriminator tap.  PL decode works great except when DTMF tones are sent through the repeater.  As soon as DTMF is sent, audio from the decoder drops out.  This is not happening when testing on a simplex frequency, only when sending DTMF tones through the repeater.  Any ideas about what's happening?  Thanks.   Paul - KC�HST Yahoo!
