Thanks Kevin and all, and yes, I did mean insertion, not isolation, got interupted half way through the question. I did not want to answer the question why 6 rather than 4 cavities without getting a solid answer. Why I have six cavities is becuase that Is what I had the opportunity to buy, why it would be better or worse than 4, that I could not answer. The question came up in our ham class that I am teaching, so I had to table the question until I got some feedback. Thanks for the help. Mine is not broke yet, so I won't fix it, hihi....

Going from 6 cavities to 4 is a step backwards. The gain, because of
the reduction of insertion loss, in either the transmitter path or
receiver path would only be 7 tenths of a dB (.7 dB), hardly worth
worrying about, as you'll never be able to realize it actual use.
Keep what you have and value the piece of mind that you (likely) have
some reserve isolation; something many ham systems cannot boast.
