I used to have a copy of that program, but it is on the drive of my
dead laptop. But the general, short answer is that at 1/4 wave
spacing you get more signal directly out from the tower-in line with
the tower and antenna. At 1/2 wave spacing, the signal is squashed
out at 90 degrees to the line between the tower and antenna, and
decreased straight out from the tower. I have confirmed this in
actual measurements, while remotely switching between a top mounted
omni and a 1/2 wave spaced antenna. Numerous measurements were made
in the field with an in-line attenuator feeding the receiver.
Hmmm... have to get that DB program from somewhere again. Jeff?
