Yet another reason to get some microcontroller tools. :)
Although you can build them for less, the AVRISP programmer is $30 at
Digi-Key. Get a few of the Tiny-13 or 2343 chips, and you've got an
IDer, or simple repeater controller, or ...
That's why I love microcontrollers. They are 'anything' chips.
