But this is GMRS-it MUST, by law, be CTCSS controlled. And VOX 
operation, besides being unreliable, can lead to a carrier squelch 
operation if someone takes the mic off-hook.

I would NEVER use speaker audio for a repeater. Again, all someone has 
to do is tweak the volume control and you're effectively off-the-air.

I wouldn't trust a mag mount to last more then a couple of operations 
under repeater use. They just go bad too quickly, and repeaters are too 
finicky.

But that's me...
