All the tower owners are that way. Not just them. I talke with 4 tower companies and they are all the same. Don't want nothing to do with Ham Radio. And as one mentioned, unless it is current equipment, they won't even if you agree to pay all the rest. I told one that I built my system from scratch, and they was done with the conversation.
Now if I could only find a 200' tower of my own, then I would be happy and not worry with them.

Only thing I can add to Mr. Miller's comments are they also will require an engineering study. I can't figure out why they're in business. They ran everyone off our towers here in North Texas and want two arms, two legs, and a midsection to add anywone. It's ridiculous.
My 2 cents,

Put it up and see how long it takes them to notice. If they ask just tell them your site rep from 3 or 4 site reps ago said it was ok. On 5/24/06, na6df <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:Yup, I understand. I never have any particular rep more than a few months at either of the sites that we lease. Rules seem to vary widely, depending on who you talk to. Zero site maintenance. I have even offered to make them a deal to handle weed & brush control (fire hazards), exterior lighting issues, garbage patrol, etc. The sad part is, we already lease an entire room at the site in question, have our own power meter, and we will already be occupying a side mount that will easily accomodate my 220 antenna as well as the 950mhz Scala paraflector that we use. Still can't seem to get anywhere, and I'm willing to pay a bit for the antenna space.. go figure. dave/na6df --- In [email protected], "Charles Miller" <ham- [EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:Yes they do. Take the commercial rate and multiply it by 2.8734. Then they will charge you a setup fee that cost about $1,000.00providedthey do not have to purchase anything for the site. If they need to purchase anything for the site take that andmultiply it by2.5629. If a tower crew is needed to mount your antenna (that they say topurchase)and coax (that they also say to purchase), then take the towercrew time andmultiply it by 4.6823. Then you will need to have insurance that covers everything at thesite, regardless of who owns it or what it is used for. By the way. If the equipment is not current production, they willnot talkto you. They are NOT amateur radio friendly. I have one of my broadcast stations at an existing site, and was hoping to work a deal with them. My equipment would be in our(radiostations) own room, has our own power, and the antenna would beon asidearm mount that we already occupy. They really wouldn't belosinganything to let me in. They don't take care of the site at all.Maybewe could do a tradeout. The weeds & trees are overgrown... fire Hazard! 73, df Yahoo! Groups LinksYahoo! Groups LinksYahoo!
