Tnx for all the suggestions.  Replacing the exisiting DB420 is not 
really an option, and since my experience with that antenna has shown 
it to be broad-banded enough to cover both GMRS and Amateur with little 
heartburn, I was mostly interested in the concept of 
combining/isolating the two radios without too hefty an investment in 
new hardware.  Our ham club has on hand a good assortment of (mostly 4 
can) Motorola/DB Products/Celwave UHF duplexer assemblies; will have to 
talk with the guys to see who has what.

I recognize the potential headaches such an installation could generate 
if not properly executed, and may ultimately just look for another site 
(heck, I'm always looking for sites...who isn't?) for the GMRS.
