Hi Bob,

Depending on the supply and system capacity... proper location 
and size of fuse or circuit breakers is prudent. The better 
protection might be an integrated crowbar type circuit in a full 
hard shunt configuration unless some type of auto breaker reset 
function is smartly engineered in.  Or possible combinations 
there_of...
