I believe I would ask for a 9.6 kb/s digital voice repeater coordination (or maybe 4.8 kb/s) occupying a 10 khz or 20 khz bandwidth and let the coordinators sort it out. Be it DSTAR, P25, AOR DV (this works pretty nice on an FM repeater) Alinco's format or some new and yet to be decided format, it should not make the coordinator any difference. I don't believe the FCC asks whether the user in public safety is running P25 or M/A COM ProVoice.
