Don,

Wasn't that the receiver that I couldn't get to squelch out by turning my
service monitor completely off (-137dB) but would squelch once I removed the
cable??

Yep, I think it was!! With the preamp in-line and the squelch set critical, I
could open the squelch with my HP8920 set to the lowest generator output
setting (-137dB). I was so impressed with myself...

Only trouble is, you have to have a GOOD set of duplexers and a damn quiet site
to realize all that sensitivity. If you had the perfect situation, that receive
setup would work great with a 500W amp. You would just have to have a GREAT
duplexer!!

Yes Scott that was the 220 You built, At the Same time You were building a
House and Moving , Everyone is Impressed with the Receive, And the users are
able to Get into it using low Power and that was my Goal, I have it about 17
Miles away From home up at 150Ft, G-7 Wacom BP/BR 4 Can . 80 Watts out at the
Duplexer. I can bring up the Repeater from Home using a old Motorola Service
Monitor R-2001C, I have My wife at Home and tell Her over the Cell Phone when
to flip the switch and vary the output up and down she is not a Ham but
putting up with Me for over 40 ys and going to Hamfest She helps .

Thanks again For the Great job and also all the Help I have received from
others on this Group

Happy Repeater Building
