I would assume that it is similar to 'Free Run Boost'. The transmitters would be really close to the same frequency but not syncrhonized and it would rely on the FM capture effect.
Unless there is 15dB of difference in received signal strength you get ot hear the 'fight' which sounds intresting to say the least.
