Yes, we wanted to confirm the items we had already looked into, and we were also looking for other items, that we may have missed. Sorry if my tone came off like that, that was not the intention.
My goal was to get as much information for us and others that may come upon a situation like this. Wanted to see who had done this and what they did or what happened to them. I wanted to see how everyone felt about something along these lines and more. plus it actually brought out a lot of good items that myself and others may not have thought about when presented this opportunity. I by no means, will claim to know all about amateur radio, repeaters etc. I have only been in amateur radio for a little over a year, though I do have some experience with commercial systems, not design but use of. As a newer ham, one of my goals is to learn all that I can and ask questions regardless of whether someone thinks its a waste of time or a stupid question. It is my requirement to learn what I can and ask what I can, otherwise, I will not learn. This has got to be one of the best sources for information on the net and since a lot of the older hams around here don't really want to elmer or anything, I most seek else were. The only reason I have been able to make some of the statements like I did is that since a year before I got my ticket, I have bee reviewing and obtaining all the information I could for this site. I helped establish the ARES group here in our county, handled the paperwork for incorporation, etc. and then after getting my ticket and the EC at the time deciding to quit, it got me moved up and I have been even more active in determining issues, needs, improvements, etc. for this location. I personally feel that anyone wishing to buy a tower, get space on a tower or whatever, needs to ask questions to be sure that they know what is going on. In order to protect our amateur radio operations nationally, we need to ask questions and learn more than we already know. If we don't people will not think of us as helpers, but as problems, as I have seen happen in the past. I hope that someone comes along and takes this thread apart and makes a usable version that can be placed on the Repeater-Builders website. It will be good for future generations to see. I have a feeling that some more of these stations will in the future find their way onto the market and this information will help us all. --- In [email protected], Nate Duehr <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Christopher Hodgdon wrote: > > > > Please understand that our ARES groups parent organization is an > > international non-profit emergency response organization made up of > > volunteers from all walks of life and all areas.
