Thanks very much Eric. There is nothing stamped or written on the 
daughter board.
It is a professional board and looks just like the GE stuff. It is in 
the way of
the plug-in ctcss unit that I planned to use, but I can work around 
that if necessary.
The squelch control plugs into the board via a cable. I think it is a 
mod made by
GE as I can see what looks like the original squelch control wires terminated
underneath. Done very neatly and I am sure if it was a field mod it would not
be so. All the GE manuals I have are from the good old Progress Line 
days. I never
did get an opportunity to work on this "new" stuff. I have enough 
information off
the net from folks like you that I can convert it into a two meter 
repeater without
too much difficulty.

So thanks very much for your help. I originally posted this to the 
MastrII list but
after a day and a half it still has not appeared..
