1. Only if you have enough protection for the receiver. 

2. Yes, the difference would be night and day if you don't have 
any distant co-channel repeaters to deal with. 

3. I would try the Petite Sirah Wine over a Zin any day. 

If you have enough protection for the receiver and a good enough 
receiver you will notice a very nice difference in the repeater 
coverage.
