Yeah, with that rule gone I'm surprised at how many repeater controllers still enforce it. I'd prefer longer hang-times for less transmitter cycling, really.

Might as well leave it up for up to 30-60 seconds, as long as the controller is properly ID'ing it.
Change "C2" accordingly....
Less thermal cycling (or at least a longer "up and down wave" with less "bumps")... less "shock" to the transistors in the PA... lots of things.
I use one with my Tube PA, less cycling of the 'plate contactor' <klunk> Oh, BTW the rules discussion is fine for now......... Kevin Custer
