To Mike and Others, First of all thanks for your information in getting my 10Mtr Mitrek running. I followed all the information, especially from Mikes excellent write up.
I have since been up to install the TX radio at the repeater site and checked everything was working. It all appeared to be working as it should, first checking the TX using the local mic, as if a normal radio, and got great reports, audio was excellent, and those listening could not fault it. I was a happy man. I then plugged the repeater controller into the radio, in my case a RLC-3 from Link-Comm, which feeds into the Mitrek by pin 10, through a 10uF electrolitic capacitor and a 1K resistor (in series) to Pin 4 of the crystal element. Bypassing the mic pre-amp and pre-emph. I got nothing, well should say I got a very low tone (tone was a programmed tone from the controller I commanded), the PTT line was working. I tried to increase the audio out from the controller and was able to bring it up ever so slightly. I then removed the 1K resistor, still with very little improvement. I have now pulled the TX unit out agian and have it on my bench again to check. Lacking a good array of test equipment I will have to try and do my best until I can get back to work and distrub my radio tech and his workshop. Shoud make mention that I tried connecting it from one of the other ports that has good audio, and I still had athe audio problem. I am going through the manual again, but it appears the radio is working as it should due to the fact the mic audio was good. Any ideas in the right direction woud be a big help. I would like to get this project finished by Christmas. Regards and Thanks in advance. Kevin, ZL1KFM.
