You forgot to mention that the Syntor X will not duplex since it uses the save VCO for both Tx and Rx. You'll need two to build a repeater, one for Rx and one for Tx. My experience is that some, but not all "range 2" Syntors will Tx in the low half of the ham band without mods to the VCO.
