You can "cheat" and run off one of the 12 v batteries. But the better way is to use something like the Astron 2412 DC to DC converters. I used several of them in the past running 12 v radios in 24 v helicopters. Like a lot of Astron stuff, they worked very well. I think the 9 amp version starts arround 60 bucks.
