At $250/P25 radio is more like the D-Star price although they are user programmable. At $2500 it would be a very very hard sell for a Ham. Think we all know this, hi.
I don't think ICOM has much to worry about from competetion from Mot or any P25.
Of course I am sure the Mot stuff is much better than the ICOM rigs as with most other types.

Used P25 radios can be had for as little as $250 (you still need a programming kit for some) and as high as $2500+ for a new handheld or mobile.
