I didn't extract the .net myself. What I have is a very first generation pro copy, and I'm assuming that the .net framework isn't present because all software which I've tried to run that require the .net framework will not run unless I download and install same. Also, whenever it asks me about some ".net passport" nonsense, I just ignore it. Anyway, don't want to get too far off topic here.
