About the only thing I've seen that was more stable was DEC VAX/VMS...:c)

------------------------------------
Quick war story .... years back I was hired by DEC as part
of a team to update the IT for USS at the Fairfield Works.
The plant had been in what one might say suspended operation.
The engineering system was a VAX and when we talked to the
"Current" engineers no one knew where the computer room for
that system was. Just that it was somewhere on the network.
We finally found it out near the back of the mill property
in one of the power generation buildings. If I remember
correctly from the logs it had not been rebooted for nearly
3 years. I remember thinking to myself how is that possible.
That's a long time. Coming from Burroughs Large Systems Group
and as a "Newbie" to DEC and Vaxes and VMS needless to say
I was pretty impressed. Made all those old Star Trek episodes
where Kirk beams down to some planet where the computer
systems had been just running and running seem possible.
