All depends on the area. Around here, Channel 4 is already up on UHF for HD and staying there, as is Channel 2. Channel 6 is staying on VHF, and the high-band VHF's 7 & 9 are staying VHF also. I was told by a local broadcast engineer that in early trials, it was learned that low-VHF suffers from certain types of noise that tears up the digital signals, and later station moves by most networks took that into account and planned to skip on up to UHF where they could, if they originally had a low-VHF allocation.
