Doesn't appear that way... I wasn't very nice with my statement of "public safety empire builder attitude" but it along with a lot of misinformation seems (in this example) to be the root cause. Trunking comes in many flavors... and traditional analog audio trunking sound great/clear and the user audio doesn't sound like it's been run through a guitar pedal effect. LTR Trunking is one such example of typical good FM communications audio without the cell phone flange sound. > There have been MANY stories published regarding digitized > audio that can, and have, turned people away from trunked > systems utilizing digitized audio... Yeah, but keep in mind digitized audio is not tied to trunking system operation. > I have personal experience with one system that has > digitized audio and it makes my hair stand on end. > Mark - N9WYS Yep... I was not sold on Icom's new 6.25 system when I visited their booth at the IWCE system. Forget the audio quality for a moment and think about the actual gross time delay through the system and it's a no-go for most of my commercial users. cheers, s.
