Hi Dave and Larry,
I wonder why Larry wants to replace the harness? Larry can you describe your problem in detail?

Sure - be glad to ...
I have, as earlier noted, a DB 268. This was a donation antenna - probably from a business of some kind. In any case, this is an OLD antenna. I am wanting to be SURE that the antenna harness is OK for use in amateur before climbing and mounting, etc. I have checked it with an MFJ 259, and I've opened each dipole bracket where they mate with the mast - looking for any signs of lightning, etc. The antenna seems to be resonant at about 147.1 - which is not too far from 145.150 where we want to use it. The pigtail at the base of the antenna has a male PL259 - which I am told you *could* get, but it was not the usual connector. So anyway - it seemed to me that it would be a LOT easier to check components, etc if it were possible to replace the harness - and having the harness exterior to the mast rather than interior obviously makes it easier to get to - although perhaps not as safe.
However, I don't know whether such a modification is possible.

Thus - my question.
