At VHF it works "ok"... at UHF, not so easy... > I have used right angle adapters when lowering the frequency > of a duplexer to prove that a longer cable is required. Relative rude cable length increases will give you an indication of where things are hopefully going. One should expect the cable to be longer and after a bit of experience you get a sense of how much cable lengths are increased for the classic 10 to 20 MHz shift down of a typical UHF duplexer. Never say never... sometimes a cable length can be shorter than the initial (starting) length when you switch from a 3/4 wave jumper to the shorter 1/4 wave jumper. s.
