Have you considered selling/trading what you DO have for something that
might be better for the application?  You should be able to find MVP's for
$0 to $50.  Get one VHF, one UHF, swap receivers, and you'll have the key
components for a split-site repeater in nice little portable-friendly
packages.  I'm willing to look around to see if I have any MVP's left (I
think the last of them went to Dayton a few years ago, but I can check), and
if I do, you can have them if you want to pay shipping.  Even if I strike
out, I probably have a matched pair of crystals for some 433/434 MHz link
frequency that I can donate to the cause if you want to do split-site.
