I was at a 'well known' ham radio store Saturday and they were showing off the D-STAR stuff. They tuned a local D-STAR repeater for me and were braggin on the quality, but the audio was OBVIOUSLY digital... sounded like my answering machine talking to me.
I'm just not impressed with any 'all or nothing' communications technology... especially when it comes to public safety. Just my 2-cents. Mike WM4B
