(I'm looking here for how you know it was the Sinclair making the noise, and not some nearby "rusty joint" problem in a high RF field environment. (Are you in a high RF field environment? Any new transmitters right on top of your new Sinclair antenna?) Just thinking through it and wanting to make sure you didn't do anything drastic to the antenna before you KNOW it was the antenna and not something else nearby...
