The MASTR-IIe is kinda a hybrid between the MASTR-II and MASTR-III.

Essentially, The power supply and system card from the MASTR-III is used
with MASTR-II RF hardware. The result is you get a repeater or base station
with programable timers, morse code ID and PL/DPL tones, but still uses
crystals to set the freqency. Word was this was done because they were
waiting on type accepting the IIIs RF hardware and the rest of the III was
ready to go and they needed something to sell.

I don't know if GE marketed them, but you can mix and match the RF decks to
create 10m, 6m and 1.25m MASTR-IIe's.

The MASTR-III is only available on 2m, 70cm and 850 Commercial.

I have seen people buy the IIe and revert it back to a II for reasons
unknown by replacing the min-backplane for the full size one and using the
standard 10V card.
