Who's the nicest person you know? No silly, not me it's the person who gives you a million dollars. But I have the answer to your question/problem. I'm a fully Authorized Kenwood and Pyramid Dealer and Service Station so I've seen this question a few times... The tk-780 & tk-880 has two surface mount resistors that need to be relocated to allow external audio through the kct-19 cable (external input). And just to make life more enjoyable I'll now tell you the Service Manual does describe those resistors when using the KCT-19 but I know for a fact that most of the early Service Manuals have the configuration wrong/backwards. So once you get the two resistors moved over to the reverse of what the Service Manual indicates, you also need to enable the external path PTT in software. To enable PTT input on pin 8 of the KCT-19, under Edit/Optional Features, program Com2 as "Aux Hook/PTT". Move the resistors, change the programming and the tk-780 radios should start transmitting audio through the external kct-19 input "port".
