OK, as you tune the stages up there are metering points and any decent indication of energy should show up on the meter when you do the right peak or dip. After re-rocking well over a few hundred MSR and Mitrek KXN-1086 and KXN-1088 elements through the years I can't say I've ever had a bad one nor one that wouldn't cover the entire frequency spread. If the element is flat or low on output, I would first suspect the crystal was cut wrong. s.
