Tim, Jim, et al -

Thanks! Thats the answer I've been searching for. Its a similar rig-up to that
found with the Spectra (I think) where there has to be more than one power line
to the (+) terminal. This type of rig-up is more common these days isn't it?

  John,

You are correct.....but remember, the "Ign. Sense" line has to be connected
to the (+) power connection. And of course, use fuses in supply line. Have fun!
These are a great, solid radio!

So basically, in a sense - to rig this up with two alligator clips and my
Astron Power Supply, black/negative to the ground and positive/red to the hot.
Assuming this does not blow this mobile up, I want to err on the side of
caution before I try to rig this up, it should power this unit on, correct?

  Thanks!

    John,

If you haven't already gotten a response, the flat end is ground, the
center is hot and the pointy end is ignition sense. good luck.

      Hi Gang -

Just a quick question to see if anyone knows how to power up this mobile
to check for functionality without the use of its natural power cable? This
unit has 3 prongs aligned with each other and my goal is to fire it up with an
external power supply and alligator clips. If, assuming the pointed end of the
power plug is facing upward, which prong would be the hot (Positive) and which
one to ground / negative? Any advice would be helpful!

      Thanks in advance and 73s

      John
