Someone else already stated that your equipment must be narrowband-capable, ruling out a lot of used radios. I'll add that you want to avoid 9913 or LMR foil/shield coax for your repeater installation. As far as costing things out, I'd suggest that you get quotes from a few local two-way dealers. There are some dealers on this list that will probably contact you as well.
