I am looking to build an APRS Digi on 2 metres. I had considered using a Yaesu FT-1802 radio, but was concerned that the receiver may not work very well on a community RF siite. My other radio of choice could be the Vertex VX-2200 commercial model? Only problem is the audio level requirement via the 15 pin accessory port, for 1200 baud, may need some amplification. Any other suggestions for a better solution? Ideas for any models with a high spec receiver? Location/URL for secondhand units? Any ideas appreciated.
