For more information on the GNU/Linux that is running inside the one of the processor inside the modem chip: https://osmocom.org/projects/quectel-modems/wiki Unfortunately I fear that the interesting part which deals with the telephony network is yet in another separate processor in that modem chip and the code is probably nonfree. Also the fact that theses chips are from Qualcomm makes it harder to work with due to the lack of good support in mainline Linux and the fact that the MSM Linux kernel diff is huge. Denis.
