I have a bug tracking service of my own for my own projects, and it
would be nice if you could specify a BTS to use on the command line 
rather than the ones that seem to be hard-coded in (Debian, Ximian, KDE,
etc).

thanks for your report.

You might want to look at "BTS selection" in
/usr/share/doc/reportbug/README.developers.gz .

Also, from "man reportbug" you can read:

Using the --bts option, you can also report bugs to other servers that
use the Debian bug tracking system, debbugs.

I consider this bug as closed.
