I noticed that the first part of the example seems to be missing from: http://docs.repoze.org/bfg/current/narr/project.html#the-interactive-shell
"For example, if your application .ini file might have a [app:main] section that looks like so:" Is followed by a blank line and then the next sentence says: "If so, you can use the following command to invoke a debug shell using the name main as a section name:" Which is followed by a shell code block. Maybe the missing .ini example leads to some of the confusion.
