Position: Websphere Portal Developer Duration: 3-4 Months Location: Downers Grove, IL Rate: $40-42/hr Main Responsibilities: a.. Portlet: Develop software applications using WebSphere Portal using either Portlet Factory or Web Content Management (WCM) tools or building JSR compliant portlets using native Java b.. Content: Develop software applications to provide workflows and administer content in web content management and IBM Quickr Content Management portions of application. Includes developing with out of the box functionality as well as custom content management c.. Quickly transition knowledge of existing system from current development team to effectively support, troubleshoot, maintain and enhance the existing system d.. Work closely with BA and QA team members to understand requirements and design and ensure system meets business and technical objectives e.. Able to research issues independently and solve problems f.. Able to balance work priorities for support with development project needs Experience and Qualifications: a.. 2+ years IBM Websphere Portal (including REST API calls) b.. Proficiency with either IBM Portlet Factory or Web Content Mangement (WCM) c.. If portlet developer: 2 years using developing JSR 168/286 Portlets, JSPs and Servlets, SOAP-based Web Services. d.. If content management: Proficiency creating custom Portal WCM components (custom, not just out of the box functionality) and proficiency with portal themes and skins. e.. Experience with other java portal technology will be considered a plus, e.g., Oracle, BEA, Plumtree, Vignette, but not substitute for IBM Websphere Portal experience. f.. Prefer Brainbench or Sun Certification on Java Platform. g.. Exposure to other middleware or external security manager products is a plus. h.. Ideal candidate has excellent interpersonal and communication skills. i.. Experience with database design, Use Cases, UML, HTML. j.. Bachelors in Computer Science, related field or comparable experience k.. Healthcare domain experience is preferred, including experience with long-term care, privacy regulations (HIPAA), records management, hospital or care facility workflows and processes, healthcare financial management, and integrating with healthcare information systems, e.g, EPIC, Cerner, NextGen.
