Client is looking for an EDI Analyst with hands on experience with
enrollment files and with reading and manipulating healthcare EDI files.
A successful candidate will be comfortable in a Unix/Windows environment.
location: Mineapollis,, MN
Duration: 6+ Months
1st round interview will be a (20 - 45 minute) phone screen
2nd round interview is with client
The EDI Analyst possesses a general understanding of the technologies and
applications supporting Medica business. The EDI Analyst is responsible for
level 2 support of internal and business partner-facing enterprise EDI
interfaces including administration, maintenance and software configuration
management for production systems. They also research complex data, process
and integration issues, document break-fix specifications and participate
in delivery of comprehensive solutions.
Candidates must have the ability to communicate clearly and at all times be
able to interact with others professionally in a variety of situations. The
role requires collaboration with technical and business experts in the
course of researching and resolving issues.
The EDI Analyst creates documentation to describe application design,
logic, coding, support processes and break fixes. Documentation must be
understandable to both the business user and the technical implementer.
The EDI Analyst works independently and with teams to plan and accomplish
goals. They must be self-directed in using their experience, creativity and
analytical skills to resolve technology problems.
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related discipline (or
equivalent work experience) and 3+ years EDI Analyst experience required.
Specific technology experience required:
•Health Insurance IT background
•Thorough knowledge of healthcare-payer ANSI X-12 transaction standards and
EDI connectivity methods
•Experience with analyzing and editing EDI files, especially 834 and 820
•Experience with UNIX/LINUX command-line operations
•Strong SQL skills
•Familiar with enterprise application integration (EAI) technology
•Relational databases and data analysis – Oracle & MS SQL Server
•Ability to perform application configuration and administration in Windows
and UNIX/LINUX environments
Technology experience also desired:
•Familiarity with claim processing, provider contract, enrollment and
benefit plan processes and applications
•Knowledge of mapping EDI to other formats
•Familiarity with Information Builders’ iWay software and/or Tibco Business
•Scripting – Unix & Windows
•Familiarity with ITIL incident, change and release management best
•Familiarity with Service Desk management tools
General technology and business skills required:
•Excellent customer service skills and soft skills (i.e., Collaboration,
influence and communication)
•Performing support for production application systems including testing,
administration and installation to maintain enterprise technology operations
•Ability to troubleshoot and resolve, or identify for escalation, complex
support issues, determine root cause and implement or facilitate a solution
•Documenting technical requirements for application break-fix and
•Recording technical issues and associated troubleshooting steps and
•Experience with information technology operational support methodologies
and best practices
•Providing user training in the course of resolving service tickets
•Participate in high-level system design and contribute to technical design
•Achieve full compliance with business policies
