We need a BO (Business Objects) architect people who know the full platform
stack and can talk/write about where to use what and why.

 

Duration: 12 weeks

Location: (WI).

 

This will include supporting and assisting our client with: 

 

a.       Establishing project management and communications processes,
including:

*         Project management and plan 

*         Confirmation and alignment with the Steering Committee 

*         Define participants and content to support key project activities

*         Discovering the current state:

*         Compile current state business strategy, goals, and key metrics 

*         Hold interviews with stakeholders and subject matter experts.

*         Review client's current production environment in relation to SAS
and Business Objects 

*         Determine the long term viability of the existing applications and
their potential fit into the business intelligence strategy. 

b.                   Defining the future state of client's business
intelligence tools, their capabilities and production environment changes
that would support that strategy, as well as specific strategies related to
the appropriate use of features within the SAS and Business Objects
platforms.

*         Define the future state business mission/vision, objectives and
capabilities

*         Gap analysis between current state and envisioned future state

*         Identify the architectural options for delivering the future state
solution

*         Identify the solution capability prioritization method and
selection criteria

*         Refining the approach to deliver the future state of American
client's business intelligence environment.

*         Develop a refined set of initiatives to deliver the future state

*         Determine the solution roadmap to deliver the future-state

*         Get agreement on the high level solution architecture to support
the future state

*         Determine the high level data conversion scope and strategy

*         High Level Requirements

c.                    Developing an order of magnitude estimate of the
effort to complete the design, construction, and testing of future state
business intelligence environment.

d.                   Developing materials describing:

*         Project Plan: Activities and timeline for this engagement

*         Current State Assessment: High-level documentation of current
state how client currently uses Business Objects and SAS 

*         Business Objects and SAS Position Papers: Reporting position paper
when and how Business Objects and SAS should be leveraged within client's
environment

*         Business Objects and SAS Proofs of Concept:  will be developed and
tested in a time-boxed duration of six (6) weeks which demonstrate the
feasibility of the recommended approach.

*         Future State BI Blueprint: High level business intelligence
architecture, comprised of the following views: 

1.       Service Context 

2.       Functional 

3.       Application 

4.       Information 

5.       Integration

6.       Infrastructure Requirements: Initial software and hardware material
specifications needed to implement the environments to support the delivery
and deployment of the overall future state business intelligence solution.
The Disaster Recovery Environment is out of scope for this engagement.
Furthermore, cost for procuring the hardware and software and implementing
these environments (the Bill of Materials) is out of scope.

             ii.      Implementation Estimates, for the overall program and
the next phase, including: 

1.       Estimated Duration 

2.       Estimated Effort Size/Hours

3.       Estimated Cost Range
