(Re-attaching to the thread. Erick sent me some log info.) >From the environment, it looks like you have http_proxy and https_proxy variables, but not HTTP_PROXY and HTTPS_PROXY. Sadly, some apps want one casing, and others want another. Try setting the latter and performing the install again.
