David, I seem to recall a while back that we thought there were a few missing pieces in the implementation of READ_AT_SNAPSHOT to make this change by default. Do you recall where we are on this? The one thing I can find going back is that we reverted IMPALA-4829 here: http://gerrit.cloudera.org:8080/5970 because of KUDU-1869. Looking at the current state of that JIRA, I'm not sure whether we now believe we can switch back to READ_AT_SNAPSHOT here or if instead we should be using the new READ_YOUR_WRITES functionality present in the latest version of Kudu.
