Thanks @aarondav. I opened [SPARK-1318:Alignment of the Spark Shell with
Spark Submit](https://spark-project.atlassian.net/browse/SPARK-1318) to address
the work of, as the title of the issue points out, align the Spark-Shell with
the Spark-App.
I think we should merge and close this pull request and continue efforts
over Spark-1318.
