srowen commented on issue #27177: [SPARK-30491][INFRA] Enable dependency audit files to tell dependency classifier URL: https://github.com/apache/spark/pull/27177#issuecomment-573471048 The purpose of this mechanism is really just to catch changes, not so much help figure out what the dependencies are. `mvn dependency:tree` is better for that. As long as one can meaningfully figure out what changed, it's fine. I don't really object to this, but it isn't adding much of anything either, and might make back-porting a little harder as all of these would conflict in 3.x vs 2.x.
