HI @srowen,
For this particular feature the extra build profile will probably be
unavoidable. The ATS API only showed up in hadoop 2.4 (IIRC). What we really
should avoid is what you mention before, working with an unstable API and later
have to change it - or worse, add another profile - to support the new stable
API.
