@chu11 I believe this is superseded by
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SPARK-5382 and has gone out of date at
this point. Moreover I don't think passing `--config` is necessary if the user
can just export the `SPARK_CONF_DIR` environment variable himself. We just have
to make sure we don't override `SPARK_CONF_DIR` if it is already defined, and
this has already been fixed in master. For this reason I would recommend that
we close this issue.
