URL: https://github.com/apache/spark/pull/28182#issuecomment-612729043 That said, I'd say SPARK-23541 seems to be the better fix even we agree to pull the functionality into DStream as well; it provides roughly predictable number of partitions and doesn't require to have multiple of number of partitions.
