@rdblue yes, those are fair concerns, and we have to discuss further to figure out a good way to roll out better-update mode. That's for future discussion. Thanks for understanding. I know this is not the ideal solution, but something we have to do in the interest of 3.0 given that v2 sources have been the default. Though, it would be great if you can review this PR.
