@andrewor14 so just figured out your question about principal and secret,
you have to set a principal if you have secret configured.
Our protobuf definition actually actively guards it, so at the time when
you build the Crendetial proto if you don't have a principal it throws an
exception. I've added a check myself so I have a nicer error message before
build happens.
