    as noted in the [jira](https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SPARK-6999), 
the issue is that both types get implicitly converted back -- the `RDD` is 
converted to `JavaRDD` and the `Seq` is converted to a `java.util.List`.  The 
problem is that there is no method `createDataFrame(rowRDD: RDD[Row], columns: 
Seq[String])`.
    
    Probably a method like that should be added at some point, but the comments 
on the jira make me think that is non-trivial, so no reason we shouldn't do 
this now.
